What is a Dakini?
Dakini (Sanskrit), Khandro (Tibetan) translates as female “sky dancer” and points to the movement of energy in space and the insubstantiality of all phenomena. Thus it can be said that a Dakini is one who dances in the pure potentiality of all that is possible.
Dakinis represent the path of transformation whereby the energy of negative emotions is transformed into the luminous energy of enlightened awareness.
Dakinis act as messengers of wisdom, as spiritual guides and sometimes as protectors. They are considered female embodiments of enlightenment.
The energy of the dakini is the intuitive force. Dakini energy has aspects of playfulness and shyness but it is also direct, sharp, clear, and honest. Because dakinis are said to break through obstacles and blockages they can be seen as fierce, radical and courageous.
Why the name 'Dakini Coaching'?
I have chosen the concept of the Dakini to be the spiritual muse for my coaching practice because coaching is about joyfully transforming obstacles so that we can play in our highest possibility. - Alec Franklor, CPIC
