Not to solve their problems with our modality, but to live in their reality through borrowing their shoes. This 180 degree change of perspective is disorienting. It takes effort and humility. It is not for the faint of heart. Yet it is required for your prospective clients to really feel they can trust you and invest in a relationship with you and your work. Once you really get this reorientation, your messaging becomes so much easier and far more effective.
